I Eat Glitter For Breakfast

You know that silly little saying---

I Eat Glitter For Breakfast? {{ Okay okay. I know the mug says eat cake for breakfast-- just pretend that it has glitter instead of cake! }}

Well- I feel like that should be every woman's motto. There is something about it that really just perks me up and makes me change my mindset to be AWESOME everyday. It's kind of like wearing a cape. Like a reminder to be the best superhero that I can be for myself and for my family... everyday.

Not striving to be perfect. Not striving to be someone who I'm not. But to be ME. And to love ME first so that way I can be the best version of me for everyone else! Does that even make sense? I hope this explains it!!

Do you feel like you know who you are? Like really know. Or do you feel like you have been trapped inside of a label for so long that you've lost yourself completely?

Are you a mom. A wife. A friend. A mentor/business woman. Do you wear many hats? Do you feel like you spend so much time filling other peoples' cups that you do not take the time to fill your own everyday?

I used to be this person! I used to say- I'm a wife! I have to do wife things... and I would never take ME time. Then I became a mom-- and then my baby came first for everything... and I hate to say it- at times.. too many times the baby came before my husband too. Then came baby #2 and it got even worse. I felt like I was in a constant spiral of cooking, cleaning, diapers, nursing, bath time, bedtime, etc that I never STOPPED...

Until one day. I did stop. I looked in the mirror and I did NOT recognized the woman staring back at me. Val had been gone for so long that I didn't know if I would ever come back.

That's when I made a CHOICE. A difficult and sometimes a very unbelievable choice--- to start changing my mindset. To start putting me first. To start saying NO to others if it meant jeopardizing my priorities. I started putting MYSELF FIRST!...

And oh my gosh. Was that scary!!

I told myself this everyday:

√ 1 workout won't fix you

√ 1 week of clean eating won't make you healthy

√ 1 personal development book won't change your mindset forever.

Do it all daily. Everyday. Never stop. Never skip. Just start to change. Never. Give up.

heart emoticon
And then I started to see and feel changes. I felt better and realized that he trio is fail proof---> if you apply it! because I did!

Give yourself a gut check.

Are you going to give this your all- or are you going to float by on autopilot and make excuses?

Start the change to find YOU and do something everyday that your future self will thank you for!!

I DECIDED that I was going to exercise, start a career in turning my fitness into a business and being the best mom/wife I could be----> AFTER putting my needs first for 30 minutes a day to make my mindset solid and my body thankful for the royal treatment!

We all have a choice.

A choice to either let the stress and negative thoughts build up and eat at us---

Or a choice to pray and let it all go!

A choice to tell YOURSELF that today is a great day! That no matter what- we have the ability to breath in goodness and exhale the bad.

Repeat after me:

I am enough.

I am able to make the most and the best of every day I am given.

I have the ability to wake up and live everyday with happiness.

I am alive and today is a gift.

Remember to stop and smell the roses. Don't get so caught up in everything that you forget the simple things in life that mean the most. And the fact that you CAN live any life that you choose to create. I am living my DREAMS all because I made a choice to change. A choice to make a difference and it all started with ME! I feel amazing. I am grateful for my life and when life throws me curve balls.

I eat glitter for breakfast!

How To Plan Out Your Month And Crush Some Goals

The holiday season is officially HERE! This can either be the BEST time of year or the most stressful, right?! I want to help you make this the BEST end to the BEST year of your life to date! Let's commit to setting and crushing some goals no matter if it is in your everyday life or your business or both! A new month means new opportunities and a clean slate. It does not mean that you throw all care to the wind and say- I will start in the new year? I am sitting at my desk right now with my planner and notebook next to me about to set some strong goals and I'm going to share with you exactly what I do and how I do it! And how for sure- YOU can do it too!

Tip #1- DO NOT WAIT. Start NOW.

After I became a wife and mom I really stopped thinking ahead of what 'today' will bring. I went on autopilot- taking care of my husband, the house, the kids and LIFE! Can you relate? That was just what happened and I thought that it was kind of the norm and I lost ME.

Well, a few years ago I hit rock bottom. I was in a depression, I felt like I was in the dark and just couldn't find my way out. I was being suffocated with the stress and responsibilities of day to day life, debt was growing and all of this was taking a toll on my marriage!

Enough was enough!

So- I decided that I was ready to change. I WANTED to change more  than I wanted to stay the same in my own bad cycle!

I didn't understand goal setting when I first started! It felt weird to me!! But, I went to this website that I had heard of called www.30daypush.com and just STARTED!
I encourage you to go and sign up for your free account! This is a game changer!

So- what else do you need to do?

IDENTIFY YOUR PRIORITIES.

Mine are:

My FAMILY! 1st- always. Faith, my business and with that comes my fitness and health which is a priority too. Health to me is mental, physical and emotional health! They all align when we make them priority.

CHOOSE 3-5 GOALS IN EACH AREA OF PRIORITY.

Your goals have to really have meaning. So take some time to really think about what you want to achieve!! And make some very attainable and some can be a few that take a little longer than a month or two to achieve.

What do you want!! Write it down and the kicker is here- PUT A DATE NEXT TO IT! A date that you want to crush that goal by! If there is no date next to it, it means it's just a dream! A goal has a time frame.

Trust me- it's crazy- but when you are working towards them with intention then you are going to achieve them.

Here is an example. Most people want to lose 10 pounds- right? It's not a crazy goal- it is totally doable. The average healthy weight loss is 2- 2 1/2 pounds a week- so losing 10 pounds in a month is a realistic goal!!

ACTION STEPS TO REACH YOUR GOALS.

Control the controllable. Set out everyday to be better than you were yesterday. Have your list of goals in sight and work towards them everyday. You can wish all day long for something to happen, but unless if you yourself are taking action to make these dreams become reality then won't move forward. Have a game plan!

With our 10 lb. weight loss for example, you're going to break it down into your actions steps. You need to have an exercise routine. You need to follow some kind of nutrition plan. You need to have accountability to your goals, motivation (serves the priorities), and a reward.

So find some kind of accountability coach or a friend that's going to hold you accountable and motivate you to reach your goals. If you are clueless about where to start- I am here to help. Email me and we can get you going in the right direction.

You are also going to want to have some kind of reward in there as well. So that when you achieve these things on your daily, weekly, monthly basis, then you have some of reward or something that you look forward to. Those are your actions steps. Make sure that you set yourself up for success and understand what you have to do in order to achieve those goals.

REVERSE ENGINEER YOUR GOALS.

So now- you have your game plan! You are armed with your goals and you want to make them become reality!!

Time to REVERSE engineer! And if you're like me-- you're like "WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?!"

We are going to map out what it's going to take to get there! For each action step you need to plan it out on your calendar.

For example for a goal of exercising 5 days a week plan that out on your calendar for when you are going to accomplish this activity for each week of the 30 days. It has to be a meeting that you do not cancel on. You wouldn't cancel a meeting with your boss, so you are NOT going to cancel your workout.

Then you will need to take a look at what you are eating! You need to PLAN it out! Weight loss and results come from cleaning up the diet! 80% clean/ 20% treats. Create a meal plan mapping out exactly what you are going to eat for each meal each day!!
You can even have a box there for your accountability that you can check off for when you check in with your coach or accountability partner.

Let me give you this last big piece of the puzzle.

When setting your goals- YOU have to WANT them for YOURSELF. YOU have to dig deep and find the motivation and momentum to show up and work everyday! YOU CAN- but YOU are the only one who can accomplish them.

The examples I gave you were fitness related, but if you are setting your business goals- the same deal applies. You can't just SAY you are going to do something- your actions and efforts must match the goal. It's all up to you and your mindset!

At the end of the 30 days celebrate your progress.

Re-evaluate where you went wrong and also celebrate where you went right! I find it super helpful to write down three things that I did really well in the month instead of criticizing myself and pointing out all the things that I didn't achieve because truthfully you're not always going to achieve all your goals and that's okay.

You need to get used to really celebrating your progress and just being happy that you are moving forward. CELEBRATE the small and the big achievements!!!! Find the positives always!

I hope you guys set some amazing goals this month I want to hear about them. I want to hear what it is that you guys are setting for yourselves for this month to set yourself for success, feel free to email me at valbozzo15@gmail.com or find me on facebook- fb.com/val.bozzo

My Favorite Oatmeal Recipe!

As a busy mom- I am always trying to come up with new and creative ways to not only fuel my own body, but to get nutrients into my kids!! That can be hard when all they really want it cinnamon toast crunch cereal or toaster strudels! Who else feels my pain?!!

So I came up with this gem of a recipe that will make your taste buds and your kiddos taste buds dance!!! My girls actually asked for MORE! That is an accomplishment!!!

So here's how I make it!

Grab a sauce pan- I use 1 yellow container (21 Day Fix containers) of water- which equals 1/2 cup.
Bring the water to a boil.

Add 1/2 cup (yellow container) of dry old fashioned oats
Add 1/2 cup (1/2 purple container) frozen blueberries - I get mine from Sam's Club
Add 1 tsp. peanut butter - let's be real... I do a heaping tsp.... it's just that good.

Cook on low for about 4 minutes.

Pour into a bowl and add 1/2 chopped banana (1 purple container)
Cinnamon to taste!

It's SO EASY and SO GOOD!!!

My Top 6 Tips To Get Motivated To Workout

When I hear people tell me that working out just comes so naturally to me- I kinda want to cringe! Nothing really comes naturally to anyone- but with the right mindset it is easier to see WHY making it a priority everyday is so important!!

Do you want to workout? Do you want to get yourself onto a good routine and stop the rat race of excuses that fly everyday?

Here are are my 6 tips that get me motivated to workout everyday and i'm going to share them with you. Remember- these are things that have to be done consistently over time before they become a habit! It takes 3 weeks to create a habit! After 3 weeks of trying to escape your new workout routine- you'll begin to embrace it! Trust me :)

1. Set a goal! What do you want to see happen? Lose 10 pounds or maybe more? Tone up and feel better? Now- break them down into small weekly goals! Is it to lose 1 pound a week? 2 pounds a week? Celebrate every reached goal- THEN VISUALIZE your GOALS! It is so important to visualize how you are going to feel once you've accomplished your goals! What will you look like? What will you enjoy doing differently after you reach your goals?
Write them down- stick them all over your house- print pics if that will help and keep your eye on the prize!!

Hands down- JUST MOVE!! You've gotta get the excuses out!

2. Wear cute workout clothes! Motivational tanks are my fave! Cute Nike Pro shorts- matching sports bra- really whatever it takes! I swear- when you look cute- you feel cute! Target, Fabletics, TJ Maxx,  Marshalls, Victorias Secret, Dicks, Academy, Nike, Outlet Malls--- these are a few of my favorite places to shop!!

3. You've gotta LOVE your workout program. You really do! If you are someone who is into cardio, but you're trying to do a Yoga program- it's not going to motivate you to get your butt out of bed and get it done! Or if it's something that you've done over and over again- you're not going to want to do it and you'll put it off until later... then later never comes.
For me- I love kickboxing, weight training and HIIT type workouts. I choose my program based on my goals! If you need some help choosing something- reach out and let me know- I can help.

4. PREWORKOUT.

Oh My Gosh. Seriously- I used to be closed minded and would never even consider taking a pre workout. I had heard horror stories from some people and I wasn't going to use anything... UNTIL on day I did my own research and took the advice of some friends and other health professionals and went in for the kill. I made sure that all of the ingredients were all natural and I chose Beachbody's Energy and Endurance. AHHHH!!! It is my life saver! It's hard NOT to workout when my energy kicks in from that and when I'm done- I don't crash and burn. It's prefect for me, but remember- for some a cup of coffee is a great pre workout too!

5.  GET A WORKOUT BUDDY!!! Seriously- accountability partners are KEY! We have to be surrounded by like minded people! Get a friend and start to get your workout on! A simple text in the morning telling each other to get out of bed works wonders!!

6. You've gotta know WHY you are doing this. Your WHY has to be something so strong that on the days when you feel like giving up- the days when you feel like eating the ice cream or going through the drive thru- it's what keeps you grounded and away from the bad.

Ask yourself- WHY is now the time that you are ready to change? That why is really your self motivation. You can have all of the support you need with coaches, friends, family members cheering you on, but if it's not right in your mind- then you will never succeed. Hard core TRUTH! I know from personal experience. The why will be what will help you get back up and brush yourself off when you fall- because you WILL fall! It happens, it's life! We get back up and start fresh the next day. Your results will come from 1st- mindset, 2nd- putting in the work for your workouts AND don't forget the thing that controls 80% of your results... YOUR NUTRITION! You have to eat properly and follow a meal plan. I fought that part for so long- well I never reached my goals until I changed up what I was eating and drinking!

Those are my 6 tips for you! If you'd like additional help or advice- please reach out. You can find me on fb @ fb.com/valbfitness or email me: valbozzo15@gmail.com!

Ways To Get Motivated

Ways to get Motivated!

How do you find the motivation to exercise when you just don’t feel like it?!!? When getting up early or exercising when you get home just feels like the biggest chore you've ever ad to do and you just don't want to do it!?! We have all had days where the motivation is left in the dust and the bag of Oreos becomes the better plan!. It is really important to continue to motivate yourself to reach your goals everyday.

Below I have made a list of some of the best ways I know how to get motivated and to stay motivated. One of the most important ways- hands down- is to find an accountability partner. Find someone that you can workout with that will hold you to your goal and scream at you if needed. Who is that person that will call you out when you are making bad food choices or skipping workouts. A few other important things that I do EVERYDAY is to log your workouts, read magazines, books and websites along with rewarding myself. It is so important to surround yourself with positive people who are supporting your goal. I constantly read blogs from people who are trying to eat clean and lose weight. I love Oxygen magazine-- their magazine is based on the eat clean principles.

So here are some ways to stay motivated below:

1. How you feel after a workout. I always feel great after a good workout. It’s a high. And I let that motivate me the next time: “You know how good you’re going to feel, Melanie!” I am always pumped for the rest of the day.

2. Time for you. While many people make time to take care of others (kids, spouse, other family, co-workers, boss), they don’t often make time to take care of themselves. Instead, make your “you” time a priority, and don’t miss that exercise appointment. I had to actually sit down and talk with my husband about not giving me a hard time when I needed to exercise. Now he is very supportive.

3. Calories burned. If you count calories (and it’s really one of the most effective ways to lose weight), you know that the more you exercise, the more calories you burn — and the bigger your calorie deficit. Personally I do not do this one but you have to do what works for you. They have a great little invention out there called the body bug and I encourage you to check it out. It makes exercise and eating a game by tracking all your movements and the food you eat and it tells you how many calories you burned vs. how many you took in! I would love this!

4. Having fun. Exercise should be fun. If it isn’t, try a different kind of activity that you enjoy. As long as you’re moving, it’s good for you. Don’t feel pressured into doing a certain type of exercise, do what’s right for you and most importantly do what you will stick with. You have to LOVE your workout routine, otherwise it feels like a chore. Exercise shouldn’t feel like a chore it should feel like a reward.

5. How you’re going to look. Imagine a slimmer, fitter you. Now let that visualization drive you. I go through the Oxygen magazine and rip out pictures of models that I would like to look like and then I hang them on my wall where I exercise. It reminds me that I am working towards my “best” body. Now that I have achieved my weight loss goal, I still am trying to achieve that “best” body with strength training and toning. Another suggestion is to create a dream/motivation board. Cut out pictures that are motivating to you and put on a poster board and keep in a place that you will be reminded of every day!

6. Magazines. It motivates me to read fitness magazines. Not sure why, but it works. I secretly would love to do a bikini competition! I'm just too chicken to commit!

7. Cover models. Sure, they’re genetically freaky, and probably Photoshopped to look perfect. But for some reason, looking at how good a cover model looks helps motivate me to work harder.

8. Blogs. I enjoy reading blogs about people who are into running, or losing weight. It can show the ups and downs they go through, and you can learn from their experiences.

9. Success stories. I find the success stories of others incredibly inspirational. If a fitness website has success stories, I’ll almost always read them. I also search the beachbody facebook support groups for good transformation pictures to use as my motivation.

10. Forums. Do the monthly challenge on the beachbody facebook group with your coach, or join another forum full of like-minded or like-goaled peopled. Check in daily. It really helps. It is really important to be an active member of the forums, the more you post the more comments you will get to keep you motivated.  Message me if you want in on a new challenge, starting Oct 5th!

11. Rewards. If you exercise for a few days, give yourself a reward! A week? Another reward. Do it often in the beginning. Don’t always make it food! I bought myself a new outfit and allowed myself to purchase another exercise program!

12. Fitting into new clothes. Wanna look good in a smaller size? Work out!

13. Being attractive. That’s always a good motivator, as I’m sure we all know. I hate that I used to run into the bathroom to change because I didn’t want my husband to see me naked! Now at least I let him get a glimpse of the body that is hiding under those clothes!!

14. Adrenaline rush. I get a rush when I exercise. Ride that rush to complete the workout.

15. Stress relief. Wound up after a long day at the office? Get out and work off that stress. It makes a world of difference. I know its hard to get yourself to that point but that’s where your accountability partner comes into play. Keep each other in check even when you have a long day!

16. Time for contemplation. I love, love the quiet time of exercise for thinking about things. Most of this post was written in my head as I exercised.

17. A workout partner. Best thing I’ve done. Has totally helped me reach my goals. The Beachbody support groups have been the deal breaker.

18. An exercise class. Sign up for a class, perhaps with a friend, and you’ll be motivated to get there and work out. Coast Life Fit Club is calling your name baby!!!

19. A coach or trainer. Worth the money, just for the motivation. How about FREE, I am a beachbody coach and I help motivate people to reach their health and fitness goals. I can also help you with meal planning and staying accountable to your workout plan.

20. An exercise log/graph. For some reason, writing it down is extremely important. Really. Do it for a week and you’ll see what I mean.

21. Your before picture. You often don’t realize how far you’ve come. Take pictures. I have taken pictures and I hide them on my computer so no one can find them. I always take pictures in a sports bra and shorts and then some with form fitting clothes on. That way you can eventually share some pictures!

22. A 5K race or triathlon. Just sign up for one, and you’ll be motivated to train. I’m still working on this one!

23. The dread of feeling “yuck” from not exercising. I hate how I feel after not exercising. So I remind myself of that when I feel tired.

24. Living long enough to see your grandkids … and play with them.

25. The scale. It’s not motivating to weigh yourself every day, as your weight fluctuates. But if you weigh yourself once a week, you’ll be motivated to have it keep going down, instead of up. Combine the scale with the measuring tape, and measure your waist. I haven’t weighed myself in a week and today I got on the scale and it was down 2 lbs!

26. Reaching a goal. Set a goal for weight, or your waist measurement, or a number of days to work out, or a number of miles to run this week. Setting and tracking a goal helps motivate you to complete that goal. Make it easily achievable.

27. Posting it on your blog. Tell people you’re going to lose weight or exercise daily, and report to them. You’ll make it happen.

28. Motivational quotes. I like to print them out or put them on my computer desktop. You can always take what I’ve posted, print it out or re-post it!

29. Books. I just bought a strength-training book as a reward. It makes me want to hit the weights! I love love love Tosca Reno’s Eat Clean books. I am also reading the Abs Diet now!

30. Others commenting on how good you look. When someone notices the changes in your body, it feels good. And it makes you want to work out more.

31. An upcoming day at the beach, or a reunion. Nuff said.

Design Your Blueprint

What will you do with the next 2 years of your life?

Will you spend it going through the motions of 'everyday life?'
Or do you have some drive and ambition to learn something new, do more, be different?

Are you truly passionate with your life? Like feel like you live each day positively? With purpose? Intention? And put forth your best self?

Are you EXCITED to get up and go to work tomorrow?! Like jumping for joy right now?
Whether you answered yes or no- think of this...

What if:
You could just start a gradual change for YOU.
1-2 hours a day. Learning something new. Making you better for yourself, your family, a future spouse, family, etc.
What if- you could write down some big dreams and goals and be taught how to work towards achieving them?

What if... Life depended solely on YOUR decisions. You call the shots. You live how YOU want?

That is my reality and it for sure can be yours too.

Join me this week in a closed online group. {{Nope. you do not have to be local! Just living in the US or Canada.}}
No strings attached.
Read a daily post. Watch a short video. LEARN what it is that I have created in 2 years that has changed my family's blueprint.

We went from:

*Miserable, broke and arguing with my husband daily to happy, fulfilled and more in love than ever with my husband.
*Nearly bankrupt to earning 6 figures working from home in 2 years.
*Telling our kids "no, we can't afford piano lessons, soccer, cheer, dance, etc" to now allowing them to try anything to see where they excel and where there heart and passion is.
*Being restricted to like NO vacations to now traveling at least every other month-- and most trips are paid for by beachbody.
*I became the #1 coach in the state of MS bc I LEARNED how to live again and shared ME in hopes to help thousands of people change their lives too.
*Living paycheck to paycheck to now being SO CLOSE to financial freedom.
*The list goes on.

AND I've done all of this by treating this business as a business- working 1-2 hours a day for the first 6-9 months and now I work 20-30 hours a week of my OWN TIME. That means- before my kids wake up and after they go to bed. I did it during nap times and NEVER sacrificed my time with them. And I will never have to either!!

In 2 years I've seen DRASTIC changes and made BEST FRIENDS. Watching a woman lose 120 pounds-- THAT makes my heart SWELL. Seeing my coaches pay off debt, purchase new cars they never EVER thought they would be able to do, see some SO CLOSE to their six figure earning marks, some QUIT THEIR FULL TIME JOBS to work beachbody full time, some working moms become stay at home moms, and some {LIKE HOW I STARTED}- earning enough to buy groceries and put food on the table. THAT is a BLESSING.

I want to help YOU create YOUR success story!

On Monday, I'll be offering up a 5 day group, no obligation, Backstage Pass into what I do as a coach.

Answering all the fun questions like: How do you earn? Is this right for me? Is this a pyramid scheme? Is this legit? What do you do exactly? And so much more.

What do you have to lose? Or should I say- Think of ALL you have to GAIN!

Fill out the application if you would like to be added to this free informational group!

We currently have the 2nd fastest growing team in the company and we continue to be power houses in leading by example. As a team or focus is truly helping other people reach their goals but doing so in a way that respects family life, home work life balance and fun.

My goal is to help give interested individuals who are passionate about helping others achieve their health and fitness goals a way to solidify your decision as to whether or not this is right for you!!

I wouldn't wait long, I expect this to fill up fast!!!
