NOVEMBER 7th, 2013: A little bit about ME :)
I am a 30 year old mommy to two beautiful little girls. Lolah is 6 and Maddie is 4. My husband is in the Navy, so that makes me a military wife! I have always made health and fitness a priority in my life, but it wasn't until about 9 months ago when I really started focusing on change. I knew that I was turning 30 this year and I wanted something different. I made a choice to start eating more clean. I couldn't believe what a difference it made in my body and my attitude to really focus on cutting out processed foods. My family adapted to the change very well and now there is no going back. We live by an 80/20 rule. 80% of the time we eat clean and 20% of the time we cheat! I have always and will always say that eating what we love/want in moderation is key to a healthy life! If you focus on 'not allowing' yourself to eat something you want then most likely you will end up failing and binging. Don't deprive yourself, but also just plan those cheat meals once or twice a week so you don't go crazy.
I have also been a beachbody workout lover for six years. I started to do Turbo Jam right after I had my daughter Lolah. My mother in law had the DVD's and she brought them to my house one weekend and made me do it with her! After the first workout with Chalene Johnson I was hooked! A few weeks later my mother in law surprised my husband and I with P90X! So, I dedicated 90 days to getting rid of the baby weight and getting back to ME! I couldn't believe how hard it was to do P90X. I could barely do one assisted pull up. It was crazy! But, I was determined to do it and complete it. My husband and I would do it in our garage late at night after we would get our baby girl to sleep. And let me tell you, that in itself was a chore because she was NOT A SLEEPER! She never slept through the night until she was almost 10 months old! So, I was certainly sleep deprived myself, but nothing was going to stop me from getting my workout in each day.
After the 90 days was up I had lost 10 pounds (which was my goal) and I had toned every inch of my body. I went from barely doing one assisted pull up to doing 20 like it was nothing. I could do 'guy' pushups like a champ and I just felt great!
So, after P90X I took on Insanity and I would just do 'whatever I felt like' each day with the DVD's. Then it was about 3 1/2 years ago when I got TurboFire. That is by far my soul mate workout! I LOVE TURBOFIRE! I literally have done it for 3 1/2 years! I have completed the whole program at least 7 times and I generally pop in one of the DVD's of my choice two or three times a week while mixing up my workout with other things :) TurboFire helped me train for my very first 1/2 marathon in 2010. It gave me more endurance and strength than actual training on the treadmill did! I was not a runner, but doing a 1/2 marathon was a goal that I had set for myself and I went for it! I finished 13.1 miles in 2 hours and some odd seconds and felt GREAT! I would seriously recommend TurboFire to everyone!
TurboFire not only helps you shed weight, but you tone and tighten everywhere with the program too :) And Chalene is so positive and inspiring that you can't help but love her!
Then it was about 6 months ago that I started looking into Shakeology! I LOVE IT! Shakeology is amazing and it makes me feel better than I ever imagined I could feel. It has given me more energy, made my skin better, my digestion better, my hair/nails stronger and it helped me lose those last couple of pound of 'fluff' I needed to lose! All around AWESOME SAUCE!!!
Then I started T25 in June and MAN, I LOVE THAT ONE TOO!! I literally love every single program and SHAKEOLOGY!
Then it was about 6 months ago when a friend of mine contacted me to ask me what Beachbody program I would recommend for her because she had just finished Insanity. She said that I had inspired her to try it because she had heard me talking about it like three years ago. I was shocked and excited that someone asked me about it! I have seriously talked and told everyone I know about Beachbody for years. I have loved it, so why wouldn't everyone else?! I of course told her she should do TurboFire and she did! It was then a few weeks later that she asked me if I had ever considered becoming a Beachbody Coach? I was like "what is that?!" In the 6 years of my beachbody love affair I had never once known anything about coaching! WHAT?! How was that possible? So, after she told me all about it I was HOOKED! I had pretty much been a coach for 6 years and I wasn't getting any of the 'perks' of it! So, I signed on in the middle of May and I hit the ground running!
I get up every morning at 5:00 am to get my workout in before my family gets up. I lace up my running shoes and head to my gym (AKA, my garage!). I have to have that 'me' time to sweat and build up some energy in order to be the happy, positive person that everyone knows and loves ;) I usually workout anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour, depending on what I have scheduled for that day. After my workout my kids are usually searching for me, so I toss on a hoodie, (because I am a sweaty mess and instantly get cold when I come in the house) put my Mommy hat on and go into 'get Lolah ready for school and get Maddie her strawberry milk' mode! From 6 am - 7 am Monday through Friday there is no down time. It is make breakfast, eat breakfast, brush teeth, get dressed, braid hair, read a book, feed the dogs, say prayers and race out the door to get to school on time! Then at about 7:30 am I finally get to shower and get myself CUTE for the day ;) I get my little Maddie dressed and ready for the day and then I work from about 8:30-10:30 before I have to run errands, get snacks/lunch ready and play with my baby cakes for a few hours before nap time. Then from 1:00-3:00 pm Maddie naps and I put my work hat on and FOCUS. I turn off my cell phone and work. Then at 3:00 pm I get Maddie up and we go to get big sister from school. From 3:30- 7:30 it is family time! We are a normal family! We have cheerleading/ gymnastics/ dance… we eat dinner as a family 90% of the time because it is SO IMPORTANT to have that quality family time! The other 10% of the time is when we are all kind of 'off' of our normal schedule. My husband might be gone that night or I might be gone and it might be a leftover/eat when you are hungry kind of night. That doesn't happen often though! We set dinner time at 5:30 pm and that's how we run our house :) After dinner we play with the kids outside or play games, whatever!! Then 6:30 starts baths/showers, brush teeth, story time, watch a show, get clothes laid out for the next day and really unwind! By 7:30, kids are in bed and it is time for my hubby :) We spend quality time together EVERY NIGHT! Whether it is 30 minutes or 3 hours, we always make time for one another. I usually get back on the computer around 8:00 pm and work for an hour or two, depending on the night :) Then bed time just to get up and do it all over again the next day :)
I LOVE my life. I LOVE that I get to work from home and STAY AT HOME with my babies! This is my life and I wouldn't trade it for anything. I work hard and play hard. I am dedicated and motivated and I LOVE to help others. I have a passion inside of me that grows each day. I am real, genuine and caring. I trust with my whole heart and I see the good in everyone. Life is what you make of it! Why not make is so good that it feels like a dream every single day?!!
